In addition to the program fee, participants will be required to pay a $25.00 out of district fee if they do not reside within the boundaries of Recreation District #11.  This is a yearly fee assessed once per year per sport from July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022.             


              NEW!  Hip-Hop Fitness 2022 

$60 for 8-week session, Fridays at 6PM.

8-week session starting September 23 through November 11, Fridays at 6:00 PM at recreation district #11 gym in Abita, 22519 Hwy. 36.  $60 for 8-week session. Drop ins welcome, $12 per class.  Out of district residents must pay a $25 out of district fee once per fiscal year which is July 1 though June 30.  Price can be adjusted if you didn't get to start with us on 9/23.  

Funk up your fitness workout with a hip-hop dance class.  Get in shape with the latest dance moves.  Burn fat to a hot choreographed routine that will transport you to a new level of fitness.  Motivated by your instructor Angel, you will love this high energy dance workout in a fun-filled and vibrant environment.  Enjoy a whole-body workout.  No dance experience necessary.  No judgement.


  Members will learn:

* mental techniques for breathing control

* physical preparation techniques

* stretch routines

* body rock warm up introduction routines

* hip-hop dances to focus on whole body workout

* cool down routines in between high intensity sessions


  Achievement Goals:

* Build confidence.

* Strengthen cardiovascular health.

* Improve bone and joint health.

* Increase stamina.

Every Saturday: 10:30  Soothing Stretch Yoga

Soothing Stretch Yoga class is a slow paced, chair-based practice of soothing stretches to loosen muscles, reduce stress and improve circulation while boosting your mood and reducing stress and joint strain. Yoga poses are modified so they can be done while seated in a chair to make yoga accessible and all-inclusive no matter your experience level or physical condition. Please join us for mindful stillness and warm up movements that will energize the body and help you enjoy the rest of the day with openness and ease. We supply various props such as chairs, blankets, bolsters, blocks and straps to achieve comfort and support. All are welcome to this body affirming yoga class that makes poses accessible to all shapes and body sizes, no yoga experience or flexibility needed. This class is offered on Saturday mornings, see class schedule for dates.


Well Being Yoga class is a slow paced, mat based practice with stretches that are held for longer periods of time. Offered in the middle of the week, this class is an excellent time to reconnect, reflect and tune into your own well-being with slow and gentle yoga movements that are all inclusive no matter your experience level or physical condition. We supply various props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks and straps to achieve comfort and support. All are welcome to this body affirming yoga class that makes poses accessible to all shapes and body sizes, no yoga experience or flexibility needed. This class is offered on Wednesday evenings, see class schedule for dates.
